Step into the interurban to begin your journey back to Shelbyville as it might have been in 1910.

As you step around the corner, you will come upon the Hardware Shop.  Hardware shops are very important to the community as they sell many things your family might need.  Do you see the roll of paper on the counter?  The shop owner has no bags to place your items in, he has to wrap them in paper and tie them with string.

Remember your last haircut?  Were you in a place such as this?  This is the barbershop.  Not only will the barber cut you hair, he can pull your teeth too!

Step inside a favorite place in Old Shelby, the Emporium, which was also called the Apothecary.  You visit here to get your medicine.  In an Emporium you can step over to the soda fountain and order something like a root beer float to drink while you are waiting for your medicine to be mixed.

Step outside and wander on down the street. You can see it is getting late by the full moon in the sky.  Better hurry on your way so the shops don't close before you finish.

Of course Old Shelby has its own doctor.  Step up to the window and take a peek.  Notice the doctor's medicines in the cabinet.  Be sure to look for the guy in the corner who did not get to.

Notice all the bars.  Have you stepped into the jail?  No, you have entered the bank.  Tellers worked behind counters and bars.  Why do you think this is true?

The local Saloon  is a popular place in town. Travelers can stop by to wash the dust from their throats or patrons at the hotel can step in for a sandwich and something to drink.
